ASK Italian Yeovil

ASK Yeovil outside

We love ASK Italian.  Our kids love it, the menu is so good with healthy choices for the children.

You might remember that I was invited to the brand new ASK Italian in Taunton last year when it opened, during the evening I mentioned my nearest raurant is actually in Yeovil.

When ASK Italian got back in touch to let me know that the ASK Italian Yeovil restaurant had had a facelift I was invited to their launch night.

I’m so happy to have been invited back so thank you to ASK Italian for having us.

On arriving the first massive improvement is the curb appeal.  The restaurant looks fresher from the outside in.  I especially loved the lighting outside the restaurant.

We were warmly welcomed in and shown to our table.  We were introduced to our waiter for the night, Darren who was an absolute star for the whole evening.

We met the Mayor and Mayoress of Yeovil and some local businesses were present as well as some regular customers. I liked that the launch night focussed on people who simply go to the restaurant regularly and not just press.  I’ve always felt that ASK Italian really value their customers.

The decor inside I felt wasn’t as consistent as the Taunton restaurant which was retro meets Italian marble throughout; yes there were some retro nods too and also notably more modern and traditional styles like the fireplace, beams, and flamboyant mirror.

I loved the electric light art which said ‘smile, there’s wine’ in the conservatory area, I couldn’t get a good image pinned down no matter how hard I tried.  I’ll leave that to the experts.

Me and Jon chose 3 courses from the menu and of course I started with a glass of prosecco.

My date, my husband and all round great guy Jon. (He had a peroni!).

My ice cream tasted lovely and I felt it could have had a little something to finish it off.  A wafer perhaps or sprig of mint as a flourish.

All of our food was wonderful, really great quality.  The ambience was lovely.

We really enjoyed our meal at the fresh newly refurbished ASK Italian in Yeovil, we’ve been back since for a family meal for my birthday.  It’s definitely our go to place as a family of four, for date nights and for family meals too.

Thanks for the excellent post about ASK, in Yeovil. I also had a tour round the restaurant the other day and met one or two of the staff, as well as some interesting customers. Haven’t eaten there as yet but agree that it is a very pleasant location. One of my hobbies, as you may know, is visiting and sharing on Trip Advisor about restaurants of quality and distinction.

Some places just stand-out and ASK in Yeovil is one of them for sure.

    Warm regards,

    David
