Share the Joy

Welcome to Share the Joy!

I’m sat at my victorian scrub top table in our family cottage in Cornwall at 11pm.  If you’re not a blogger and reading this, you will wonder why on earth I am tapping away at this ungodly hour sipping a cheap prosecco while Flushed Away is still playing on Netflix even though my babies went to bed long ago.

Bloggers will know though, and nod their head knowingly.  Especially the bloggers who put in long hours on a regular basis, I know of some who stay up until way past midnight, every night, to bring you content that you enjoy and engage with.

Mummy bloggers really are incredible.  We blog in the nooks and crannies of the day, that’s what we do, we make it fit.

In between the school run, packed lunches, housework, christmas shopping, Facebook Live replay, business coach FaceTime, coursework, event, networking meeting, meeting a friend for a chat and a pray, the one-to-one time with each child, homework, spellings, reading, baths, food shop, meal planning, cooking, and so on.

The list is by no means exhaustive, but it is exhausting.  So what makes us continue? To bring you the written word in our minds week on week?

I guess it’s passion, or some kind of crazed obsession maybe, and actually for me it’s about more than passion.  Because to me passion is something that fizzles and burns out from time to time.  It’s about a basic need that is in all of us.  The need for connection and more, it’s about perseverance.  Bloggers have perseverance in spades.  Through it we are changing the face of social media and the way information is shared.

That is what blogging brings, community.  Whether you’re a blogger or you read blogs, you’re a part of it. That’s where the joy is and that is why I am so thrilled to announce that I am the new Positively Inspirational Round-up editor for blogging stalwart BritMums.

From now on I will be searching the blogosphere for your inspirational blog posts to go in a round-up post bi-monthly that will be available for all to see on the BritMums site.  And I know I won’t have to look far as already I have a list as long as my arm of bloggers and blogs who influence me in a positively inspirational way each and every week already.  And that brings me untold joy, because we are all in this together and that is a great, great thing to be a part of.

Right, on to the link up!

Share the Joy is the happiness-focused linky created by Michelle Reeves from Michelle Reeves Coaching, formerly known as The Joy Chaser.  You can read her blog post Where is The Joy Chaser? to catch up on her exciting news.

Michelle has asked me to step in and host for her while she creates some exciting new courses and free resources for busy mamas and bloggers – and I can’t wait to read all your fabulous posts!

Bloggers, writers, artists, poets, if creating something made you laugh out loud, opened your heart, raised your spirits or just made you smile – you’re welcome here.

Link up and share your creations with a wider audience. All genres are welcome – new or old favourites and as many links as you like.

Each week, I’ll pick a favorite post and feature it on the following week’s Share the Joy link up (I’ll be adding my picks to Michelle’s Pinterest Board where you’ll find all our favorites in one place).  Last week I loved: A week in the life of a rescue puppy by Truly Madly Kids about Rosie’s new rescue dog Shadow.  An amazing story of hope and restoration and truly amazing photography too.

Today I’m sharing an opinion post, I’d love your views on it, Gossip, good or bad?

Ok, let’s Share the Joy!

Here’s a reminder of the 3 really simple rules…

1) Link up a creation that has brought you JOY – all genres are welcome, new or old favourites and as many links as you like!

2) Link back either by including the Share the Joy badge (below) or a text link back to this Share the Joy linky page in your own post.

3) Please comment on one of your hosts’ posts and a few others. Let’s Share the JOY through commenting as well as through our posts!

Share the Joy will run for a whole week until the following week’s linky is open, so you’ll never be too late. And don’t forget to tweet me (@lizzie_roles) and Michelle (@MReevesCoaching) the URL to your post using the hashtag #sharethejoylinky so we can retweet it.

Feel free to invite your friends to join in – JOY is always better when it’s shared!

It is a juggle for sure Laurie, especially when the children are very small. Thank you for your congratulations, I’m excited to be given the opportunity to give back to the blogging community in this way. Lizzie xo
