Happy Friday! This mum is super happy it’s FRIYAY today, it’s been a great week, which has been curtailed due to a reaction to my 2nd vaccination. Suffice it to say I’m very grateful to everyone who made the vaccination come to be, but that being said I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus with this 2nd jab. Very happy to be vaccinated though for sure, as the alternative of getting covid-19 doesn’t appeal at all. We’re so nearly out of the woods now, it definitely feels like we’re climbing out of this thing now as sports etc start coming back and we can see more people and socialise.
Without further ado, here are my Friday favs!
ONE – LASHES
I’ve been thinking about getting false eyelashes for YEARS! I just assumed they’re really fiddly and hard to get right, so I’ve stayed away until now. My friends at BE More Lash Boutique were kind enough to gift me a pair of ‘Summer’ lashes, so watch this space for new and improved eye fluttering! Once I’ve mastered putting them of course! I might need a YouTube tutorial to walk me through it but I’m excited to try them.
TWO – SMART WATER
Have you tried Smart Water? I’m obsessed with it and get some each week in my Tesco online shop. Mineral water mixed with electrolytes and extra minerals puts a pep in this girls step. I get the ph balanced variety which is available at most grocery stories and convenience stores now, but there’s a host of different products in the Smart Water line including alkaline, antioxidant and flavour instilled etc! Sometimes I just need a hit of extra hydration as I get dehydrated if I don’t stay on top of my water intake.
THREE – POMODORO TECHNIQUE
Have you heard of the Pomodoro technique?
‘The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a pomodoro, from the Italian word for ‘tomato’, after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that Cirillo used as a university student.’ Source Wikipedia
I’ve been using the technique for awhile now and it really helps me to focus and get tasks done. Especially since I’ve learnt I have inattentive ADHD, this helps me focus down and actually finish a task! I even bought a tomato shaped timer just like Francesco Cirillo had, it’s so cute!! I use it for tasks and for my cooking times too.
FOUR – RX BARS ON AMAZON
RX bars are my favourite protien bars, I was so upset when I heard RX Bars weren’t going to be availble in the UK anymore. Another covid casualty I guess? So I was excited to find my favourite protein bars on Amazon.co.uk!!! I’ve bought them in big packs and there are lots of different flavours. My personal favs are peanut butter and dark chocolate salt! Made with egg white, nuts and dates, these bars are YUM and healthy too! Perfect post workout. I love a bar after a weightlifting session.
FIVE – PIP’S RAILWAY CARRIAGE
We had the BEST lunch at Pip’s Railway Carriage Cafe near Lopen, South Somerset last weekend. The food was delish, the staff super attentive and the kids loved playing in the garden. We were able to bring Maple too so if you have a pup you can book to eat in the marquee or outside. If you’re pup free then snag a railway carriage for extra privacy. Me and Jon will be heading back there for a date night soon!
I had the smores hot choc and it did not disappoint! The puds are to die for.
There you have it, 5 things I’m loving right now. Have a good weekend and see you on the other side!
