Our family Christmas tree 2014
I’ve finally had a chance to catch a breath & write down December. What a month!
December was really great for us. You may have gathered from previous posts that 2014 mostly functioned around sleep deprivation & the effects of it! It was a tough year in many ways. But December was different.
Firstly, the kids started sleeping through. After a few nights sleep we all started to feel a little more human. This in turn led to happier children & feelings of contentment & happiness for us; even some energy surfaced & I may have smiled or laughed once or twice. Joking aside it feels like a massive relief to finally feel normal & that I have the amount of energy I need to get me through the day.
Secondly we just had so many great times with the kids. With energy comes the motivation to get on & do things. So we did things!
Castle Gardens with my boy
Decorating our home
Christmas crafts & baking
Highlights with the kids were the Santa Express (SH stuck to Jon like glue & hid from santa), Mum & Dad taking SH to see the huskies at Montactute House, the pre-school sing-a-long, the Christmas Eve Service at St.John’s where my kids were so well behaved & our trip to Haynes Motor Museum which I’ll do a review on soon!
For me, I enjoyed two lovely meals & cocktail evening with my best girlfriends
Note the other party in the background! Happy times?!
Other highlights included:
Co-hosting an Ornament Exchange with the women from Church
Going to Bath Christmas Market with my Mum for a rare day off.
On the Park & Ride in Bath we bumped into some girlfriends & we all went to the Pump Rooms for a coffee & to listen to the wonderful quartet. It was really wonderful to share the experience with Chrissie, Sarah & Lydia who hadn’t been before.
I picked up yet another original cut out artwork for SB’s Room from Bertie & Jack
Then the Christmas Service at Church, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day arrived in a flurry of excitement.
Me & Jon saw the new year in with great friends Steph, Jason, Lisa, & the two Dan’s! Games, Bacon & Maple Syrup Popcorn & lots of prosecco saw the New Year in with so much fun & laughter.
Also in December we had the foresight to realise that the Christmas break doesn’t necessarily mean rest for us, so we booked a New Year break at Centre Parcs for 4 nights in Jan.
It does means I’ve put my order in with Roberta to have her baby either before or after our break. But I guess as always it’s the baby who will decide!
If you’ve ever been to Centre Parcs Longleat in Winter please do share your experiences with us!
I hope you all had an amazing December too. Our December was so much fun.
