FEAST // VICTORIOUS SPONGE W/GIN CREAM
What’s British and makes you happy? Cake AND Gin! Yes please.
This recipe has been kindly supplied by Lady Corrie Baker who also accompanied me to the Gin Festival (see our day here), but the secret ingredient will remain a secret (ssssh, it’s gin).
Corrie has used Edinburgh Rhubarb and Ginger Liqueur for this recipe but Cointreau works well too or you can use orange zest for a non boozy alternative. See the recipe which is printable! You’re welcome.

Can we just take a moment to truly appreciate the beauty of this combination, rose coloured gin and a corker of a vicky sponge.
FERRET // BLACK AND WHITE AZTEC PONCHO FROM TOPSHOP
It’s chilly but not always chilly enough for a coat. It’s mild but still there’s an autumnal nip in the air. The perfect autumn/fall staple is on hand to help out, the humble poncho.
I snapped this one up in Topshop the other day, they call it a cape, I like the word poncho. Who wouldn’t?
I kinda wish there was a Petite equivalent but since it’s an accessory and not an official item of clothing I guess I can understand that it comes in one size.
Cosy, warm, cool all in one. I love that it has a hood, I can channel my inner Scottish Widow in this. If the Scottish Widow wore a poncho.
