Making Photo’s into a Painting

Hi friends,

I’ve got to shout about a new app I found out about  from the 5 on Friday link up party!

Waterlogue is a paid app, for £1.99 you can turn your photo’s into watercolour paintings in a variety of washes & styles! Be warned you will be on it for hours getting the right effect to your photo.

I found the ones that worked best were photo’s that didn’t have a close up of faces, it made a pretty scary picture especially with the eyes & mouth ala the Joker in Batman!

The pictures of the children either from the back or side or slightly off centre worked far better.

What a great way to capture our children in a new & different way!!

I really love this one of hubs & SH at Portland Lighthouse on NYE 2013.

How cool would these look as canvas!

I’d love to play around some more & see if I can turn these into awesome canvases, they’d make a great gift.

If you download the app you can share your painting & join the party on Instagram #waterlogue

Have fun with it! See you on Insta.

Have a great day

  1. My kids looked a little scary! Haha thank u for putting on your5 I love your blog it think it has a similar feel to mine. We started the same time & have about the same amount of views! Xx

  2. Some of these paintings look awesome, but some not so. I guess its a trial and error thing, but I love the idea of “painted” canvas prints.

  3. Definately a trial & error thing & I found the photo’s that aren’t that great worked well as a painting! Good fun though it takes awhile to get a good one x
