Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere Review & Giveaway

Hey friends,

I’m a Book Buddy for Parragon Books and every month they are sending me a book to read to the kids and review.  The book for September is Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere.

This is my first month (and I should have known better due to the time of year), as soon as I opened the book and saw the cover I knew it wouldn’t be for us or our family.

Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere

The book is called Pumpkins Pumpkins Everywhere and it is by Smriti Prasadam-Halls and Lorena Alvarez.

I did read the story before I absolutely made the decision not to read the book to the kids as I love pumpkins and we enjoy carving pumpkins into happy faces and hearts to put in our window.  We also go to a ‘Let Your Light Shine’ party at The Gateway in Yeovil as an alternative on 31st October.  This years theme is the jungle!

I actually really liked the idea that the pumpkins had emotions, everyone in the story were heading to the Pumpkin Parade with their kids and having fun.  If the spooky element had been left out I would have liked it more.  I also thought the illustrations were colourful and expressive and aimed for young children.

However due to our personal views of  Halloween and Trick or Treating this story just isn’t for us.

I’m going to give away this book so someone else can enjoy it.
