Welcome to a bumper Share the Joy!
The other day I was watching interview after interview by Marie Forleo on YouTube. I’m a subscriber to her weekly video/blog posts and if you’ve been on YouTube you’ll know once a video ends the next one begins and so on.
The next video was an interview with Tony Robbins. I’d never really listened to him before although I know who he is. Marie was asking him what he does to set himself up for the day. He went through his routine which takes about 10 minutes and one of the things he does is practice gratitude. I’m so with him on this, I can get in a right funk and not know why and then go, ‘oh yeah right, I haven’t done my gratitude journal in a month, hum, how long have I been feeling like this’, you got it, around a month. So it takes me a real long time to catch up to the fact that my problem is not really a problem and the solution is really quite simple.
Gratitude changes things for me, it’s changes the atmosphere, it takes a dull moment and makes it bright, it takes my mundane life and makes it a privilege to be normal.
One of the things Tony Robbins said struck me, he said he always makes sure one of the things he chooses is a simple thing; like the sun on your face or the way your child looks at you, these are precious and normal moments.
I’m spending the weekend at the beach with my children, husband, mum and dad and the sun is out and Mum and Dad are babysitting so we can go out to celebrate my 40th birthday sans kids, a grown up meal, with conversation and wine! In a sweet and small restaurant with big windows looking out over the harbour. Not too expensive it’s out of our league but expensive enough to make it somewhere you go for a treat. Prosecco, my husband, the sea. It’s the simple things that give me joy.
This week is a bumper three week long link up! This means you can come back time and again over the next three weeks and link up your posts and have more time to comment on each others posts too!
Michelle has asked me to step in and host for her while she creates some exciting new courses and free resources for busy mamas and bloggers – including working 121 with them to create exciting goals and actionable plans to make 2017 their Best Year Yet! (Find out more here Best Year Yet!).
I’m really excited to be hosting and can’t wait to read all your fabulous posts!
Bloggers, writers, artists, poets, if creating something made you laugh out loud, opened your heart, raised your spirits or just made you smile – you’re welcome here.
Link up and share your creations with a wider audience. All genres are welcome – new or old favourites and as many links as you like.
Each week, I’ll pick a favorite post and feature it on the following week’s Share the Joy link up (I’ll be adding my picks to Michelle’s Pinterest Board where you’ll find all our favourites in one place). Last time I loved: My take on the capsule wardrobe by Maybe It’s Just Me. I’ve gone for something from Not On The High Street for my mum and Morgan has some great ideas too so check out her post!
Today I’m linking up a list of great dog friendly pubs in Somerset and I’d love a comment on my HOST post.
Ok, let’s Share the Joy!
Here’s a reminder of the 3 really simple mandatory rules…
1) Link up a creation that has brought you JOY – all genres are welcome, new or old favourites and as many links as you like!
2) Link back either by including the Share the Joy badge (below) or a text link back to this Share the Joy linky page in your own post.
3) Please comment on one of your hosts’ posts and a few others. Let’s Share the JOY through commenting as well as through our posts!
Share the Joy will run for a whole week until the following week’s linky is open, so you’ll never be too late. And don’t forget to tweet me (@lizzie_roles) and Michelle (@MReevesCoaching) the URL to your post using the hashtag #sharethejoylinky so we can retweet it.
Feel free to invite your friends to join in – JOY is always better when it’s shared!
As always have a wonderful week!
