Share the Joy

Hey friends,

Welcome to Share the Joy!

Wow guys you blew me away with your posts this week! I’ve read so many inspirational, positive and and motivational posts so thank you for linking up.  I really loved those centred around new year resolutions, words for the year etc as this is what is on my mind too and it’s great to hear from like-minded people.  How is 2017 going so far?

As you know I’ve been thinking a lot about this year and what it might bring.  Already 2017 has bought about lots of dates flung at us and it always takes me by surprise.  After beginning the year feeling free as a bird, with all of the possibilities and like the whole year is stretched before us  with space to dream and design our lives, suddenly our calendar is filling up rapidly and I’m not sure we’re in control of it.  Suddenly I feel quite overwhelmed.

Dates are flying in from the school and pre-school, family and friend’s birthday plans and looking ahead for the whole year because we have a business where we employ 6 people and no two people can be off at once can be quite the juggle.  As someone who finds it hard to focus on the future, it can be so easy to let this overwhelm me and feel like we’re not in control of our own diary!

Chatting to Jon about it I said ‘how can we get some control back in our lives’? And he said ‘maybe we can’t, life is about give and take, it’s about compromise and putting others first, we just need to be better planners’! He’s absolutely right of course, I sometimes look at others and wonder how on earth they do it all, not everything in life is perfect and I have to remember that!

Sometimes we just have to go with tide.

So 2017 will be a year of better planning and organising to help beat overwhelm, I’ve started by asking my family for birthday dates for everyone so they don’t take me by surprise!  How do you approach it?

Right, on to the link up!

Share the Joy is the happiness-focused linky created by Michelle Reeves from Michelle Reeves Coaching, formerly known as The Joy Chaser.

Michelle has asked me to step in and host for her while she creates some exciting new courses and free resources for busy mamas and bloggers – including working 121 with them to create exciting goals and actionable plans to make 2017 their Best Year Yet! (Find out more here Best Year Yet!).

I’m really excited to be hosting and can’t wait to read all your fabulous posts!

Bloggers, writers, artists, poets, if creating something made you laugh out loud, opened your heart, raised your spirits or just made you smile – you’re welcome here.

Link up and share your creations with a wider audience. All genres are welcome – new or old favourites and as many links as you like.

Each week, I’ll pick a favorite post and feature it on the following week’s Share the Joy link up (I’ll be adding my picks to Michelle’s Pinterest Board where you’ll find all our favorites in one place).  Last time I loved:   The New Year Mama Slay List Part 2 by Mum’s that Slay

Today I’m sharing my 2016 – A year in review and Action over Perfection #2 and I would love your comments.  Ok, let’s Share the Joy!

Here’s a reminder of the 3 really simple rules…

1) Link up a creation that has brought you JOY – all genres are welcome, new or old favourites and as many links as you like!

2) Link back either by including the Share the Joy badge (below) or a text link back to this Share the Joy linky page in your own post.

3) Please comment on one of your hosts’ posts and a few others. Let’s Share the JOY through commenting as well as through our posts!

Share the Joy will run for a whole week until the following week’s linky is open, so you’ll never be too late. And don’t forget to tweet me (@lizzie_roles) and Michelle (@MReevesCoaching) the URL to your post using the hashtag #sharethejoylinky so we can retweet it.

Feel free to invite your friends to join in – JOY is always better when it’s shared!

  2. Indeed life is about give and take. As long as you FEEL in control the majority of the time, I think that’s a pretty good compromise! Thanks for hosting #sharethejoylinky

  3. Trying to juggle holidays when you work for a small business is always fun. I used to have all my holidays planned in advance for the year for a similar reason – it just meant we had to plan which didn’t always come naturally!
