On Friday 25th September something extraordinary is going to happen, something is about to change. We have a chance to be part of major change in our world.
On Friday 193 world leaders are coming together in a summit in NYC. The aim? To commit to 17 Global Goals for sustainable development to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years.
- End extreme Poverty
- Fight inequality & injustice
- Fix climate change
The Global Goals for sustainable development could get these things done. In all countries. For all people.
Project Everyone (started by Richard Curtis/Comic Relief) aims to inform 7billion people in 7 days of the Global Goals, you can help in sharing this hugely important summit.
Please do all you can to share the Global Goals everywhere and in any way you can.
Global Goals week is Saturday 26th September to Friday 2nd October 2015.
On Saturday 26th September choose one of the 17 Global Goals and share it in a selfie on social media. I know it is hard to choose just one, you can write it on your hand, in the sand, or creatively make up the number any way you wish.
I am choosing No 16
The more people who know about the Global Goals for sustainable development, the more successful they’ll be. If we all fight for them, our leaders will make them happen. So they need to be famous. We’re working to get the Global Goals onto every website and billboard, broadcast on every TV station and radio station, in every cinema and classroom, pinned to every community noticeboard and sent to every mobile phone.
But that won’t be enough. We need your help to share the Goals. In conversation, on e-mail, in debate, on products, at home, at work, at school – whatever it takes to Tell Everyone.
This is it folks, this is the time to rise up. This is the time to take responsibility along with our leaders and make changes for good. So let’s do it.
